It's a small world at Event City

The Northern Modelling Exhibition was held over the weekend at Event City in Dumplington. There were dozens of models on display and in action, from very large aeroplanes, boats and trucks to slot car racing and trains. Plenty of fun for all the family, especially at those stands that allowed youngsters to try their hand at racing or constructing. This is part of the impressively realistic Timpdon Lake outdoor railway.

  2. Model trains are so neat. I can't imagine the amount of work that goes into recreating the scenes. That's passion!

  5. A friend of mine turned his garage into a miniature train room with mountains, creeks and tunnels. He had a couple of trains and ran than at every opportunity. I like this set up a lot.

  6. I was quite into model railways as a teenager. These days I much prefer real locos.

  7. This would be heaven for kids of all ages. I always wanted a train set when I was a kid. We couldn't afford one. But my best friend, who had well-to-do parents had a magnificent one. I was jealous!

Our new site is up and running and in the future we'll be posting on the blogs on that site. Come and visit!
