Monday mural, Monday mooral #citydailyphoto
Fibre glass cows toured in their dozens around the world in 1998. They came to Manchester eight summers ago. The Cow Parade has visited all continents, taking in Sydney, Zurich, Chicago, Johannesburg, Bucharest, Arnhem, Taipei, Leon, Curitiba (the world's greenest / most sustainable city), Lima and dozens more.
A few bovine beauties enjoyed their trip to Manchester so much that they stayed, and a handful can be found grazing or lazing around the city. This one is taking it easy near St George's Island. Linked to Monday Murals at the Oakland Daily Photo blog.

This colourful cow brought a smile to my face:-) It's very unique and entertaining.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but you see them these days indeed everywhere. Including museum and tourist shops.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very special way to decorate a cow. I wonder what she will think about her transformation.
ReplyDeleteMoo! I love it! I hope the parade reaches Manila in my lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI used to work in the office right next door to this cow! Bought a smile to my face every morning!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! This is a very creative mural!Love the adorable cow!

What unique colors for this cow. We had gecko sculputres all over a nearby city recently. Lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteWe had moose here several years ago but they all lost their antlers within weeks. A very cool cow!
ReplyDeleteThis moo-ral is amazing! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the painted animal sculptures in different cities. So far we've seen sturgeon fish, horses, bears, and even painted bison in Custer, South Dakota. I never thought of them as murals before, but usually they do depict a scene that has meaning for the area. Thanks for giving me a new way to think about this fun form of art!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to see... love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat where alike is possible, and happening. Our son likes cows. Please have a good Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHave seen elephants, and asses, and pandas in DC; and bears in Munich ... no bovine yet .. I love these animal sculptures and always keep an eye out for them. Thanks for sharing this one.
ReplyDeleteShe looks pretty comfortable there!
ReplyDeleteThis is a real hoot. I think I saw more of the cows on a London blog a couple of years ago. Didn't know they were making a tour of it. Resting a long while in favored cities seems like a good thing. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
