It's been 4 years now since Antony Gormley's 2002 sculpture Filter became a permanent exhibit in Manchester. Gormley says “The work hangs in space as if in orbit, open to light and the elements, it is a meditation on the relationship between the core of the body and space at large”.
We have statues of ( yes it is a copy of him) all over in Stavanger.
ReplyDeleteYou will find several images on my blog.
Gosh, that is probably the art statue most seen all over Europe!
He must be a brilliant business man too!:)
I would really like to see a Gormley in real life. In the meantime, thanks for this glimpse!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I still remember the thrill of seeing all the pieces at Crosby Beach. I would love to spend a day there watching them appearing and disappearing in the tide.
ReplyDeleteOh my gośh Chrissy, this fab sculpture is so much like the work of the artist I'm showing tomorrow.
