For several weeks running this pavement art has been retouched, after fading over the course of each week. It's great to be bringing public art into such a mainstream shopping area like Market Street that is otherwise pretty much devoid of culture.
The painting is a copy of The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer. It's also known as the Mona Lisa of the north. A contribution to Monday Mural.
Nice art work. Too bad it is not going to last.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI love that painting, someday I'd like to see it. Apparently she was on tour and I missed it!
ReplyDeleteI am awed by the talent of these street artists
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I'm left awestruck. Thanks, Chrissy, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteThat really is street art Chrissy, I guess walkers and weather would make short work of it.

ReplyDeleteI've seen the same done here during busker festivals. It lasts briefly, but it is lovely work,
