Ruby Tuesday: Mini
The Mini has been a British icon since 1959. This modern red version complete with a union flag on the roof sparkles in the Manchester sunshine. It's a lovely summer's day here in the city and certainly not one for driving about. Time to use that older British icon- Shank's pony- to explore the city on foot. Linking today to the Ruby Tuesday blog.
I love the modern mini but never driven one. I have driven the old original one but not for many years, great fun but they one I borrowed the de mister was really crap.
ReplyDeleteOne of my first cars was an Austin 1100 Sedan. I loved that car - cousin to the Mini! This is a wonderful little car...lots of memories. A friend of mine in high school had one - rolled it onto its top going around a curve...but it was so well-made, no one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteThat's cute!

Super cool car!
ReplyDeleteTakes me back - a friend had one in in high school, the older model obviously! :D
ReplyDeleteI've a soft spot for minis, and love this one! Have seen some in this area with the Union Jack painted on top too, I guess there's a strong 'expat' community :)
ReplyDeleteRed is perfect for mini! :)
ReplyDeleteLive with style my friend, that's it!

Always a safe road ahead. There are quiet a few over here.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Wednesday.
Very groovy little mini Chrissy, you caught some good cloud reflections here. (is that cloud??)
ReplyDeleteYup, that's cloud reflecting - thanks Grace!
DeleteIt may be a British icon, but the company making them is now owned by BMW, which most certainly isn't British.
ReplyDeleteI love that car and dreaming to have one!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from RT2- hope you can stop by..
