ABC Wednesday: F is for fire escape


I am always impressed by the variety and colours of the fire escapes on some older buildings around Manchester city centre - they are works of art in their own right in my view.  A suitable "F" for today's link to ABC Wednesday .

    I too love fire escapes, particularly the spiral ones you sometimes see on old buildings. I've never been able to get a photo that does them justice.

    Have always thought of them as an interesting concept. Never seen them used, but I'm sure they have saved lives.

    Really like the way you composed and captured this - fire escapes will always be (after years in big cities, esp. New York) a place of escape above the hordes (although I suppose it's slightly illegal :)...
