The Yacht Club on Hardman Square is an ambitious venture, what with the notorious British weather, but on a sunny day or evening it works well.
Bar Life UK states that it's led by Manchester raconteur Jamie Jones and that “The summer playground of world leaders, glamour girls, actresses, playboys and the rich and famous, the 1950s Riviera was the ultimate place to party and have a jolly good time. The ideal place to quaff champagne and absorb the sunny Manchester rays, The Yacht Club will harness this spirit, bringing to life the elegance of the Cote d’Azur with the sophistication of the Promenade des Anglais and the stylishness of St Tropez in a chic outdoor bar complete with wooden deck and day beds.”
Thanks, I'll have a Boardwalk Bramble (Bombay gin, lemon juice and a drizzle of crème de mure liqueur). Linked to ABC Wednesdays .
An elegant bar there and your picture is great!Great choice for the Y word.
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
I'm sure it's a nice place, but i think Bar Life UK got a little carried away with the hyperbole!
ReplyDeleteAnother great looking place to enjoy an al fresco drink in the city centre.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a member of a small sailing club, not quite the same but it did have a small bar.
ReplyDeleteThat chap in the blue shirt is letting the sophisticated side down with his pint of lager in a plastic glass!
ReplyDeleteNice Y word. Cheers♫♪
ReplyDeleteLooks nice!

Isn't it amazing what you can do with a bit of decking these days! Fun choice for Y, and that cocktail sounds good.
ReplyDeleteNever been to anything alike.
ReplyDeleteFeels like an adventure.
Please have a good Thursday.
I think your weather must be much like here in Seattle... you have to be hearty to enjoy the outdoors!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think the Pacific North West and the Atlantic North West do share some climatic similarities. As to the The Yacht Club- it is nice but is merely a small area of decking, a marquee and umbrellas, plus a lot of bravado from Bar Life UK's review and the Yacht Club itself. Nice it's there but a shame it was the wettest June on record in the UK, and little let up in sight in July so far...
