Street Art: Big bird on Port Street

It's difficult to take a photo of this street art without some shadows from buildings interfering but I finally found a window - around 1.00 p.m is best at this time of year. Either way it looks so much better on a sunny day like those we have been blessed with of late than on a grey day.

It's on Port St in what is now an impromptu car parking area but was probably once a building. I often wonder what was in the space originally-my guess is a building that had to be demolished due to World War II damage.

  1. The red brick wall is perfect background to this pretty floral and bird mural. I'm glad you waited for a sunny day to capture it. A grey day can sure make things look flat.

  2. An amazing piece of work - makes you wonder at the dedication of the artists to work so high up! I would be terrified!

  3. You've got to hand it to the people who can dream up, and execute these murals.

btw I think you should definitely do a post on the meeting of Mr. Rolls and Mr Royce, I for one would like to learn more about that illustrious meeting.

  14. Parking lots are, in general, graceless spots in the urban landscape. This mural must be a welcome addition to the block. It adds the beauty of nature to the brick and asphalt of a city block. Thanks, Chrissy, for participating in this week's Monday Mural.
