Fledging days of the Sedge Lynn
One of the many fun festive events I went to over the past month was the celebration of a friend's PhD. This was at the Sedge Lynn pub in Chorlton. I remember the days it was a billiard hall and I had never been inside before.
However, it has a more glamorous past, being used for tea dances as well as a temperance billiard hall to keep men off the demon drink. Designed in an Art Nouveau style when it was built around 1907, read more at local historian Andrew Simpson's blog.

I like the look of the place. Quite a mix of uses down through time.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to hang out there!
