"S": Sepia square in #Manchester & September in St Petersburg #Piter @Easternbloc1985

ABC Wednesday and so suddenly "S" surrounds us. A section of Albert Square in Manchester gets a sepia treatment above while, marking my solidarity with the innocent lost lives of hundreds of Piter (St. Petersburg) residents in the recent terrorist plane bombing, below's a quirky photo I took in happier times for that stunning city in September.

It's of my Manchester Eastern Bloc Records bag in front of its design inspiration - The Church on Spilled Blood, built in the 1880s on the spot where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated in 1881. Peace be with you...

  1. We do live in a world were the color red of blodd colors the historie ...i can't express enough how much i would like to have historie coloured by red of love instead of all the horific things througout it

  2. The Church On Spilled Blood... quite a name and a beautiful church. I like that sepia treatment!

  3. ...and peace be with you, too. It's a SAD world right now and I pray that this fighting will STOP.

  4. The Church of The Saviour in St Petersburg is a magnificent building,
    What a pity it commemorates
    'Spilled Blood'.
    I do hope The Russian Orthodox Church re-consecrates it so that it may be used for
    what it was built for... The worship of Christ.
    As I write this there is yet another terrorist incident, in Mali W. Africa, (formerly French Sudan) this time, where 170 people have
    been taken hostage, three people reported to have been murdered..more spilled blood !
    Peace be with you.
    Best wishes,
    ABCW team.
