Loneliness of a long distance jogger

Last Friday, high on the West Pennine Moors, 1100 feet above sea level. Horwich and the reservoir are directly below, and Liverpool and Wales westwards straight ahead. Meanwhile a solitary jogger braves the damp and the cold...

  2. Andy took the words out of my mouth:) Takes me back to my long distance running days - wonderfully captured! (Oh the photo yesterday was not intentionally b&w, but you're right - it just turned out that way in the winter storm!)

  6. Nice image. It illustrates something I was discussing yesterday. Too often we wait for the human to move out of the picture, while it will be better if we wait for them to move INTO the frame at just the right spot with just the right posture.

  7. I love this photo! It really does capture the feeling. When I used to run (back in the day) I really did find it to be kind of lonely. In part, I think it's because not only are you isolated from people, you also really don't get to "see" the things around you, because you don't want to stop. That is what is caused me to start hiking instead. It allows me to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
