The eve I ate at Eight at 8(15)
It was a wonderfully sunny evening on Tuesday and I was not alone at Castlefield Basin, with many of the pubs, bars and cafes spilling out onto the communal canalside spaces.
I hadn't been to Eight cafe bar for a while, and it was good to return; it's friendly, small and cosy within but great to sit outside and indulge in some tapas and a glass of wine, admiring the boats, people watching and even purchasing some joss sticks off of one enterprising narrowboat owner.
The building was once a giant warehouse but was tastefully converted in late 1980s to apartments and also house a radio station (Key 103) and other businesses. This is just one end of it.
