Office working vs Home working and solutions with TSG

The UK has become a service sector economy and Manchester is no different. It was ranked as Europe's top city for business competitiveness and rated fourth in the world in 2010, Although there is much home working these days, many workers still rely on a daily commute to city centre offices.

There are pros and cons. I think the best solution is a split between working from home and working from the office, enabling you to get all the work done without distractions but also to be able to keep in touch with colleagues and meetings. What's your preference for working?

Businesses are dependent of course on reliable technology and TSG offer a friendly local service for hardware and software solution. They are one of the UK’s leading IT support companies, trusted by thousands of businesses across a wide variety of industries. They  offer a full range of IT services to small and medium sized businesses and can also help larger organisations through a specialist division TSG Enterprise Solutions.

  1. I loved it when I worked in the city Chrissy, it's where it's all happening, but these days even though there are distractions, I prefer to work at home!

  2. In truth? Being retired....ha ha! Sorry for the joke. I am retired but when I was working I preferred a little of both. I had a lot of report writing to do in my job, so the peace and quiet of home was better for the concentration.

  3. I admit I also loved when I worked in a big bustling city, but now my work has gotten writing-intensive, I likewise prefer the quiet of home. It's nice to have a mix though, as you say (I really enjoy the live interaction in the office after stretches of working from home:)

  4. I really have to be strict with myself when I'm working at home. It's amazing how attractive cleaning the windows can be when you have a deadline to meet for doing some work at home! I love the commute when I'm working but like the interactions with people when I'm in the city. Tom

  6. I was never keen on home working - too many distractions. And the commute was a natural break between work and home life. Mrs P has worked from home for many years and her big complaint is that she can never escape!

  7. I'm with LOL, as I was reading your write-up I was glad that I'm both at home, but not working. And as I was an electrician, working at home wasn't an option anyway.
