Bob Marley played Manchester four times: in May and November 1973, then at the Hard Rock in July 1975 and at Belle Vue on this day, 27 June, in 1976. This contemporary artwork is in a private garden near St George's Island in Cornbrook.

Stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up!
Don't give up the fight!..."

ReplyDeleteSometimes I get so tired, I forget.
Thanks for the reminder!
Happy Monday!
Excellent!
ReplyDeleteLove the Wailers!
ReplyDeleteNicely composed shot today.
ReplyDeletePrivately owned art, yet visible to the public. a nice compromise. It's jammin'.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Oakland's main old street is called Broadway and we do have a flat iron building. So, not NYC, but Oaktown all the way!
Jack:- I just had to take the shot through some horizontal railings so I was very limited- just point and shoot- thanks!
ReplyDeleteOakland DP: Good to hear the Flatiron and Broadway are your own- that's the beauty of CDP, we all learn so much about places that deserve more global media attention / higher profile than they get. So we do it for them!
