Lunch break in Sackville Gardens

Sackville Gardens, which was created by Manchester City Council in the 1880s. The plan being that you could view the magnificence of the newly built UMIST from here (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology).

Views of the more impressive parts of that institution will appear here another time. As will a tour of Sackville Gardens, which also contains the Beacon of Hope (HIV monument) and a statue of Alan Turing (computer scientist, Enigma code)
